Bosch - based in Germany
Founded in 1886 by Robert Bosch with a Precision Mechanics and Electrical Engineering workshop in Stuttgart, Germany, Bosch has a very long history, now having more than 350 subsidiaries and regional companies in over 60 countries.
The subsidiary Bosch Solar was founded in 1997 as Ersol Solarstrom, with Bosch becoming the majority shareholder in 2008. This company became Bosch Solar Energy AG in 2009 and makes silicon based wafers, solar cells, and modules or panels. Bosch has also developed Solar Power Plants at various locations across the world.
Solar panel production sites are located in Germany and France, with plans for a further facility in Malaysia.
