With it's main office in Tokyo, and further offices in Germany and the USA, Solar Frontier, a wholy owned subsidiary of Showa Shell Sekiyu K.K,(which began solar module production in 1983) has experience in solar energy dating back to the 1970's.
In 2011, the company opened what was claimed to be the worlds largest CIS thin-film solar module production facility, having an annual production capacity of around 1Mw.
