Q-Cells - based in Germany
Founded by three Berlin engineers in 1999, Q-Cells started production of silicon wafer solar cells in 2001.
The company, together with Sunfilm Ag (in which Q-Cells has a 50% stake) and Sovello (in conjunction with Evergreen from the USA and REC from Norway) now produces a wide range of photovoltaic cells and modules, with production facilities in Germany and Malaysia.
The 2010 production capacity reached 1.2GW.
Q-Cells also supply complete solar power solutions for residential, commercial and utility scale projects.
