Solarworld - based in Germany
Founded in 1998 and based in Bonn, Germany, Solarworld has production facilities in Freiberg, Germany, Hillsboro in the U.S. State of Oregon, and South Korea. A sales office was opened in the UK in 2012.
It is a virtically integrated company, handling the raw silicon, producing silicon ingots and wafers, manufacturing solar cells and modules, plus building complete solar power systems. The company also recycles silcon products.
Solarworld also supply complete kits, including an inverter and materials required for mounting panels.
In 2010, Solarworld achieved sales of 1.3 billion Euros.
