A wholly bowned subsidiary of Schott AG, the company has over 50 years experience in the solar industry.
Besides their ranges of photovoltaic panels (produced using their own silicon ingots), Schott Solar also produce Light Concentration systems, an industry where it regards it'self as a market leader, where it uses parabolic trough technology.
Schott Solar has production facilities in Germany, Czech Republic, Spain, and the USA, plus the global sales network of Schott AG.
In 2012, the company anounced that due to the economics of the PV market, they would cease their involvement in crystalline silicon Photovoltaics withinn the year. Thin-film manufacturing in Jena, and the CSP (Concentrated Solar Power) division would not be affected however.
