Sunpower - based in USA
Originally founded in 1985 in a small way by Dr. Swanson (a professor of electrical engineering at Stanford at the time) .
In 2008, SunPower signed an agreement with PG&E to build the world’s largest – 250 MW – photovoltaic (PV) power plant, set to begin energy delivery in 2010.
The company is reported to be planning a solar module production facility in the USA for late 2010, and a European facility after that.
