Nanosolar - based in USA

Founded in 2002, and based in California, USA, Nanosolar have developed a thin film process with the aim of being able to sell panels at less than one dollar per watt. The process uses technology for high speed printing, already in use in the printing industry. The company commenced commercial production at the end of 2007, using copper indium gallium diselenide, which has achieved up to 19.9% efficiency in laboratory tests. Nanosolar has a fully automated panel building facility in Berlin, Germany.
